Just thought I would post this as something I use to log my learning as I work. I e-mail the records into Fourteen Fish appraisal as learning events & reflect on them in there. I used to use 250 credits in Bento and this is similar.

It probably records too much at the moment.

One question I will ask (as I am a fairly new user), can I create an entry then raise a diary entry or get it to appear in iCal as a completion date?

A few GPs have asked me about it & I have advised them to use Tap Forms so hopefully they’ll find this. Hope it helps

Thanks Brendan for clarifying this with IBM. It is obviously an important issue.

I must say I would be very surprised if IBM did not encrypt the data, or if the user would not have such an option somewhere. As you said in an earlier reply, IBM is an older company than, eg, Apple; one of the statements of Apple is that, afaik, the data is encrypted in such a way, that data on iCloud cannot be decrypted by them even if they wanted to. This day and age IBM should provide a similar option… Anyway.

If the response of IBM is negative, is it a major change in TF to encrypt the record content before sent to Cloudant? Ie, that only encrypted data would be stored on their servers? Or at least offer that as an option for a TF Form? After all, it is perfectly possible for a specific form that one would want to encrypt only 1-2 fields, not the whole thing (a bit like Bento does).

(I did not get the nearby sync working at all, although I followed, with a brand new database, what is in the description. I got, at first setup, a reply on some system error on both my iPhone and my iPad, and none of the sync works. Cloudant is my only option.)

I imported from Bento, and it went extremely well. Thank you! Exactly what I wanted so I can have info on my desk and iPhone. However, the 1000 or so address went into a text field. I’d prefer location field so I can call up a map or directions. Is there a way to change field type? OS 11.11.6 Tap Forms build 731.

    Hi,

just got Tapforms and managed to import our old bento template and data, and got it syncing over the office network.

    my quick question is.

Is there anyway to merge to text fields?

    thanks

That’s great, I got so tired of having to keep relinking my Bento image files that I just gave up eventually.

When I used to use Bento it would get confused any time an imported image would get moved to another location and show broken link icons. I noticed with TP I could import an image and then delete it and it would still stay visible in the program. Does TP have another way of storing images from Bento? I hope it does since I wouldn’t have the frustration of broken links.

Didn’t Tapforms have calendar integration? Say for example I set a record for a certain date it would appear in Apple calendar? Or am I thinking of Bento?

    Thanks.

You must be able to sync via cloudant with the new tapforms IOS app otherwise TapForms is taking a step backwards to the Bento days before cloud computing was mainstream.

In reply to: Paying for new version

I will second that thought Walter. I have made good use of Tap Forms and would like to have the product to continue to be maintained and supported. Why would anyone expect to get updates on the old version and not pay the developer for his or her time? I think the pricing is reasonable given the quality and usefulness of the product. My past experience is that whenever I have had a problem or question with TapForms the developer has been very responsive.

I came to Tap Forms because the developer of Bento decided they weren’t making enough money and dropped the product. I don’t want that to happen with Tap Forms so I am happy to purchase the new release, even though I don’t really need the new features.

My message to the developer or developers — Keep up the good work. Thank you for your efforts.

I’m a new user and waited for the release of version 5.

All went well, I converted all my Bento databases and all installed perfectly – no data loss

However, I created a new database for my credit cards – again all went well
I exited and re-entered and set a password – Oops – now Tap Forms crashes and I cannot get access to anything!!!

Is there any way to view my digital files without actually opening them by pressing the space bar like on a Mac? Bento used to do this – means quick view of digital file.
    Thanks

When can we expect the release when we get Wi-Fi sync (like Bento)?

    Hi there,

We are using Tap Forms on one iMac and 2 MacBooks. So far like the software. Primary reason to get it was customizable DB. We used Bento before and were relatively satisfied, but Tap Forms i better and more flexible. Looking forward to future upgrades to fully relational DB where entry in one form will automatically fill up related – connected forms.
    So here are templates for:

Black list – crooks never sleep and we suffer from chargebacks through credit card processing
Call log – pretty much self explanatory. If call goes that direction operator can create CRM record right there to capture more data about prospect
CRM – everybody knows what is CRM for. We could add more fields but we really want to capture most important info, not to be overwhelmed with truckload of data
Project 1 to 4 – from CRM screen it is possible to start 4 different projects.

We do smart chip card projects and single project in CRM would not cut it so we have single customer with up to 4 different projects we can monitor. I guess it would be easy to add more if needed.
