    Hi Emre,

If you’d like, I can take a look at your document to see if there’s been any database file corruption. You can make a new backup file using the Backup command in the File menu and then email that to me at support@tapforms.com

Does the record disappear if you add it, then quit Tap Forms and then launch it again? That is, is the record gone right away meaning it appears to not having been saved at all? If so, then you may have a problem with that database file.

One other thing you can try is to use the Export Tap Forms Archive command to archive every form in your document. Then make a new document using the New Document command. Then import your .tfarc file into the new document. Then see if you’re still having that issue.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

I´ve been using TapForms for some time now to keep record of customer orders. Every quarter of the year I create a new form from a copy of the previous quarter and adjust it to my needs by renaming fields and copy/pasting data within the entry fields.
Unfortunately my newest form is constantly loosing data, complete rows just disappear from the list. And I have no idea, why this is happening with only the newest form, all previous forms are still correct.
BTW I sync an iPad and an iMac…
Thanks for any help in advance,
    Emre

Thank you for your kind reply. HIPAA certainly has a very strong influence over Electronic Medical Records in the US, but as far as I understand, being an outsider, it mainly relates to Personally Identifiable Information maintained by the healthcare and healthcare insurance industries, not information entered by an individual into a desktop app about their own health issues, and not stored centrally.

People confuse health with medicine, but in my opinion as a doctor of over 40 years experience, the two are quite different. Health is a much wider concept then medicine, which primarily exists to put things right when they have gone wrong.

We all have health related events which are not and could not be entered into our electronic medical records, even if a universal EMR were available.

    For example:

Domiciliary care visits for the elderly or housebound. What agency provides the service, who are the people involved, when do they visit, what do they do?

Dental treatment, people change dentist frequently but a record of treatment never follows them. Dental abscess can lead to ill health so people should keep a record of dental problems as well.

Private online video consultations, becoming increasingly popular but not recorded.

Stress counselling provided through work as part of a wellness package.

Private physiotherapy, osteopathy, and sports medicine, perhaps provided through a sports club or gym

Alternative medicine, holistic or naturopathic treatment

    Cosmetic operations, fillers etc.

And then most chronic diseases begin slowly, people are rarely struck by medical lightening.

It is my guess that in the future people will want to collect all this data about themselves and such a template as I am suggesting will be very popular.

Whether Tap Forms is the right vehicle, well I guess that is what I am asking experts about.

    Hi gzamba,

I am an acupuncturist who would like to use Tap Forms to create EMR for my patients. I really I would have a Profile form, an initial visit form (Initial SOAP notes) as well as a Follow up form (Progress SOAP form) and get the hierarchy correct where they are all linked. I would like to avoid repetitive lists of the same name in the alphabetical listing in the left hand column of the Progress form if possible.
I would be most appreciative if you can shed any light on how you may have constructed your database.
    Best regards,

    Marshall

I have a form for tasks that contains a ‘Project’ field which is a select / pick list of projects in another form / list. The Projects list has a ‘Customer’ field that is entered (selected from a list) when creating the Project.

The objective is that all Tasks are associated with a Project and, therefore, associated with a Custoemr.

So, when adding a Task, a Project is selected and I would like the ‘Customer’ field to autofil using the ‘Customer’ field of the selected Project.

I’m sure this is possible but can you provide a bit of guidance please?

    Thanks.

    Martin

I’m looking to create an EMR for my acupuncture clinic, and wondering if anyone here has had success with using this software to both a Mac and iPad for doing clinical notes.

    Dear Brendan,
Thank you very much for having cleaned my DB.
I can imagine that sync problems were due to the too large files to be synced through an unreliable iCloud service.

For a couple of days, syncing seems to be quick and effective. I pay attention to the evolution of the sqlite file size. For the moment, no doubling issue occurs.

    What I observe this morning:

At 7 am: I added a record on ipad, and synced. OK
At 7.30 am: I opened TF on iphone. Auto sync occurred. I changed a record on Iphone, and synced. The list of registered devices on my iphone took into account the recent sync times for the ipad and the iphone. OK
At 8.00 am: I opened TF on my macbook air: No auto sync occurred. The list of registered devices does not display the recent sync times for the ipad and the iphone. I checked the SyncDocuments folder on iCloud Drive: no sign of update for the tfs and tfx files, as if iCloud drive was inactive.

Terminal displays about 20 notices like this one:

    [CRIT] 5916.701 [2015-01-23 09:48:29.523] NSXPCConnection.user.700 accountsession BRCAccountSession.m:129
    Assertion failed: ![_xpcClients containsObject:client]

and, at the very top of the list:

    136.382 [2015-01-23 08:12:09.204] brc.system-resources resources BRCSystemResourcesManager.m:288
    Power level really becomes bad

I plugged the power, and miracle!!! iCloud Drive began to update instantaneously.

    7736.935 [2015-01-23 10:18:49.757] brc.system-resources resources BRCSystemResourcesManager.m:288
    Power level really becomes good

I needed 2 hours to notice that, as you see, and I could wait for a long time yet…

    My conclusion:
MacOSX prevents iCloud drive to sync until the power level is sufficient, or the the mac in charge. You must have at least a 20% (?) power charge for TF to correctly run an iCloud sync! The other app using icould drive are naturally also concerned.

I’ll check that issue with my iMac, which of course never have power shortage, because I do have these idled iCloud drive syncing issues on the imac as well.

    Hope that can help…

    best regards

    Hi Brendan,

I have been trying to build an EMR (electronic medical records) database for my patients using Tap Forms.
I have a main form containing my patients’ main details, and then I have several other forms linked to the main form, containing other details, such as visits, operations, lab tests, biopsy results etc.
Last year I had major problems with syncing through iCloud and all my extra forms where mixed up and linked to random records in the main form, and it has been impossible to locate which record from i.e. the visits form, matched which record from the main patient details form, as I did not include the patient name or ID on the other forms – I just relied on the internal linking process of tap forms for that.
I now try to rebuild my database and want to prevent this from happening again.
Is it possible to set up a “related” field between two forms, such as the name or patient ID, and have this field populated automatically (I used to do this with filemaker when I tried to do the same thing for my patient database there…)
