What's the secret to making text calculations work?

I’ve searched the forum and found references to text calculations, but I cannot make them work.

Take a simple concatenation: TextField1 + TextField2. Calculation parameters are set to Text, but the field remains blank.

Worse, the reference fields are stripped of their data!

Deleted all records, quit & restarted TapForms – same problem: no calculation result (no error, just a blank field.)

I’ve deleted the calculation field, reconstructed it using a different title, quit & restarted – same result.

Suggestions?

Try this:

[TextField1] + ” ” + [TextField2]

Make sure the Result Type is set to Text before you close the formula editor.
