I have TapForms Pro installed on macOS, iPad, and iOS – all running the latest versions.
Yesterday, the “Dornholz” document (2.4 GB) refused to open, and TapForms crashed immediately upon startup.
Since there is no repair function for corrupted documents, I deleted the “Dornholz” document from my Mac and restored it from the Cloud. That worked well, and the document opened successfully. However, the view for one of the forms wasn’t set to “Chart” like it was before – likely because the iOS version doesn’t support charts (I’m not sure). When I switched that form’s layout to “Chart“, TapForms crashed instantly and the document wouldn’t open again.
The only fix was to delete the document from the Mac once more and restore it from the Cloud. After that, it worked again. But as soon as I switched to the Chart view, it crashed again. I restored it from the Cloud again, and now I’m steering clear of the Chart button entirely.
I then created a new test document with a single form, one field, and one entry. The moment I click the Chart button, TapForms crashes completely, and the test document becomes corrupted and won’t open anymore.
I’ve been experiencing this issue since the update to version 4.1; everything was fine before that.
I urgently need help, as the charting feature is important to me. Many thanks.
This is the Chart oder Diagram View. In German it is called “Diagramm”

I’m very sorry for this issue. I’ve fixed this for the next update. Just finishing up some things in it and I’ll publish the update.
In the meantime, you can fix it yourself by editing the DocumentProperties.plist file that’s embedded within every .tfpro document folder.
Right-click on a .tfpro document and select “Show Package Contents” in the Finder.
Then open the DocumentProperties.plist file in a program such as BBEdit.
look for <string>chart</string>.
Then replace it with:
<string>single</string>
Do that wherever you see the above.
Then re-launch Tap Forms. And don’t click on the Charts view until I release the 1.4.1 update in a few days.
Sorry for the trouble. It didn’t crash on macOS 27.

I don’t want to edit the file, because it doesn’t look like a textfile when I open it with CotEditor.
Tonight I installed macOS 27. Should I try to click on Charts view, or better wait for the Update?
Interesting. I’ve never used CotEditor. I just generally use BBEdit and it handles the .plist file fine. It shows it to me as if it were a text file. But I’m just publishing the update now. Apple will still have to review it though.
I have yet to receive a crash report from macOS 27 for the Charts view though. They’ve all been macOS 26 or older.
