Chris ParkerParticipantHi,
I’m running TFP 1.1 on an M4 Mac mini, iPhone Pro and iPad Air. On iOS and iPadOS all is good. The DB syncs properly and displays records correctly.
However, on the Mac mini, I select a search which displays the found list correctly, but the record itself doesn’t change or update.
Is this a known issue?

BrendanKeymasterHi Chris,
Oh wow. Well that sucks. I’m not seeing that issue here though.
can you try the Default Layout or create a new Universal Layout and see if it’s a problem with those layout types?
I also just downloaded the App Store release directly from the App Store and it worked properly for me too. So I’m not sure what’s going wrong with your document.
If you’d like to email me a backup of it to support@tapforms.com I can look into it and see what’s causing this issue for you.
Thanks,
Brendan

Chris ParkerParticipantYes, it was my layouts that were causing the problem. I selected Default Layout, and it worked, then back to my custom layout and it continued to work. So all good now, thanks!
BTW, the same thing happened on another doc with a custom layout.

BrendanKeymasterHmm… well I’m glad it finally worked.
Sorry for the trouble.
Since I’m always working on Tap Forms, I’m starting and stopping it constantly, so I’m always using it from a clean slate. So that’s probably why I hadn’t seen this. I hadn’t managed to get it into a state that would cause this issue. I’ll keep an eye out for it though.
Thanks,
Brendan

Yutaka KitamuraParticipantWhen I imported it into a new file and recreated it, the same issue occurred.

BrendanKeymasterHi Yutaka,
So are you saying that when you click on different records, the details view isn’t updating?
Can you make a screen recording of that so I can see it?
Does the same thing happen if you use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate through your records? Or is it just mouse clicks?
Thanks,
Brendan

Yutaka KitamuraParticipantIt seems that it is not updated when the displayed record is the first record.
I have attached a screen recording and a sample database.Attachments:

BrendanKeymasterThanks for the video. That was very helpful.
I see the issue now. Because the selected row is the same when switching forms, Tap Forms doesn’t recognize it as a different record having been selected. So it doesn’t update the record details view as it thinks it doesn’t need to update it because the row hasn’t changed.
This only seems to be a problem with the Multi-Column List View. If you switch to the Single Column List View, it should work fine.
I’m looking into my code now for this.
Thanks,
Brendan

BrendanKeymasterOk, I’ve fixed this bug. Because the app didn’t see a change in the selected row number when switching between searches, it didn’t update the record details view. But I’ve corrected that now.
Thanks for providing the video. That was exceptionally helpful.
