Yiwen WangParticipantHi Team,
I am trying to create an order history of clients and trying to use link form one to many option. My forms are separate for each product collections for example sofa has its own form and bed has its own form. How do I connect both forms to a single client? Is this possible to connect multiples forms to a single field, or is there another solution to this?

BrendanKeymasterHi Yiwen,
You would need to add 2 Link to Form fields to your Client form. One for the Sofas and one for the Beds.
You may be interested in taking a look at the Invoice Tracking form I posted to the Tap Forms Exchange forum:
It has Customers, Orders, and Products forms. The Customers form has a one-to-many relationship with Orders. The Orders form has a Table field in it for the Order Items which have a connection to the Product form. Since it’s a Table field, there’s no direct relationship to the Products, but the records from the selected Products get copied into the Order Item records in the Table field. Doing it this way allows you to specify things like different quantities and prices for each selected product.
There’s also a nice invoice custom layout template used for printing invoices.
Thanks,
Brendan

Yiwen WangParticipantHi Brendan,
Thanks for the reply. The Invoice Tracking form looks very nice.
However since all records within a form has to have same fields with identical settings, including the source form that Table field copy content from, therefore creating one single table to gather information of products from multiple forms is still not allowed.
BTW can records within one form function more independently, such as with different layouts, fields, hide/unhide settings, etc, or is it the nature of the system which cannot be changed.

BrendanKeymasterHi Yiwen,
The form with its list of fields is the template that’s used for every record stored within the form.
So that’s what you get for every record.
There’s no way to have some records with different fields than other records.
But you can have multiple custom layouts showing a different set of fields. But again, not on a per record basis.
Tap Forms was never built to allow you to have different fields for some records than others. It’s a template based system.
