In the name list, one name field is black unless it’s selected, in which case it’s fine, blue. On both Mac and iPad. The only thing different about this record is some of the text is in red, I don’t know if that would have any effect. In trying to figure it out I found out I can’t seem to change the red text back to black. Any ideas on either problem?

OK, I figured out the color thing, they are note fields, I needed to go into the note. Or not, anyway, that’s working now. But the name in the name list is black still.

Can you please post a screenshot so I can see what you mean? I’m not sure what you mean by the “name list”.
Is it perhaps the background colour of a record that you’ve changed? You can change that for each record. At the bottom of the record details view on the Mac version there’s a colour swatch button you can click on to change the record colour.
