The call of Tap Forms Database Pro got the better of me and I did subscribe for 1 year for my iPad.
With TF 5, I had to maintain 3 separate databases due to the fact that I wasn’t able to drill down to certain criteria using cascading pick lists. Now that I have that ability, it would be great to merge these 3 databases. Is there a way to do that?
A good deal of the information housed in those databases have linked forms, so it’s not as easy as exporting and then importing the records. Of course, I may be missing something, so any help would be be appreciated!
Well, I haven’t found an easy answer to this, so I’m importing the data, then re-linking it.
Not practical, a bit time consuming, but it’s getting the job done.
Hi Karen,
You can merge database documents together by exporting Tap Forms Archive files and importing them all into another database document. I would make a new document for that instead of trying to import into one of the existing documents.
Thanks,
Brendan
Hey Brendan,
That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing. I did create a new DB, archived the files from each of the databases, then imported them into the new DB. I still needed to re-link data, but, it made me clean up things. I consider that worth some of my time.
Once I have it all in there, then I’ll move it to Tap Forms Database Pro.
As always, thanks for your help! Your time is appreciated!
