List Widget based on Search shows random records

Hey there,

I found another (small) bug while trying out new features after updating to Tap Forms Pro:

In the dashboard, when you create a list widget based on a search, the list will also show records that are not results of the underlying search. See Screenshot attached. In the example I have a meal database, where I use tags to mark meals I have made during the last week. I find it neat to have a widget in the dashboard, that shows those recently prepared meals. In the example database three records are currently tagged with the tag “Cooked last week). I have a saved search, that filters for records with said tag and a widget that points to that search. The result isn’t what I expected from this functionality. When there are only 3 search results (i.e. records with the matching tag), the remaining list items (up to the list limit) are filled with records that do not have the searched tag. It even repeats records (see the entry “Caesar Salad”, which appears twice), possibly because the widget finds them in the search results once, and then simply shows the unfiltered records as a list, starting with the topmost one. Also at the bottom of the list it says “Showing 10 of 3 records”. I would expect that list to just show three records and state either showing 3 of 3 records, or even showing 3 of 40 meals, if there are actually 40 meal records in that database.

Could you please fix this, so only matches to the underlying filter are displayed in the list widget, even if those are fewer than the given list limit?

Also, a question directly for Brendan probably: Are there any plans to expand widget functionality in the near future? I find it especially limiting that bar charts are limited to only 16 data points…

Hi Melanie,

The latest 1.4 update fixes the 16 points issue for bar and line charts. There will be no limit now.

I’ll look into the Tags Search issue with the List Widget. It could be it’s just an issue with Saved Searches that use tags instead of regular field based search rules.
