Linked pick lists

Hi – sorry if this is a silly question – is there anyway to link entries in a pick list?

I’d like to use Tap Forms to record sightings of wild plants – each species has a common name and a scientific name – and I’ve added these as separate pick lists.

Is it possible to say pick the common name and the app looks up the corresponding scientific name and populates that field automagically?

Hi Malcolm,

This sounds like the job for a linked form. But a linked form that you can pick from existing records to link. I haven’t yet implemented this feature though. It’s on the rather large to-do list

Hi Brendan – thanks for the response – linked pick lists would have been the icing on the cake – but Tap Forms meets my needs and I think it’ll be a good tool for biological recording. Well done on creating a really flexible app.
