    Hello,

I’m trying to set up a relatively simple iOS/iPadOS shortcut for a database of web snippets/screenshots.

The Tap Forms Pro shortcut “Create Record in Tap Forms Pro” should be able to do this (see screenshot), but as far as I can tell there’s no way to feed the shortcut a photo (or pick one as part of the shortcut workflow) that then can be used as an input to the Tap Forms shortcut. Instead, it seems like this shortcuts expect a specific photo/file to be chosen in advance?

I’d appreciate any guidance with this.

I just tested it and you can select photos in Shortcuts for the Create Record shortcut function. You have to expand the little chevron in the shortcut and then tap Photos and choose which photos you want to send to Tap Forms.

    Hi Brendan

I was hoping I would be able to choose a photo when the shortcut is run, not while configuring the shortcut. Otherwise each record ends up with the same photo, no?

    Thanks

Here’s an example workflow that works on both Desktop and iOS—there may be more efficient approaches.

Start by creating a Dictionary containing the fields you want to populate. Prompt for input for the Drink name field, then assign the current clipboard contents to the Comments field. Next, use the photo picker to select an image.

In the Create Record action, choose Dictionary as the input. Specify the name of the photo field, then Control-click on the photos label and map it to Photos. Also make sure the correct form and document are selected.

Finally, I chose to open the newly created record and used Open App to bring Tap Forms Pro to the foreground. I created this shortcut on my Mac, and it runs on iPhone as well.

Attached is the screenshot of the flow and the action as well.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, @Daniel, what I was missing was the “Select Photos” step.

Side note: on iOS, click and hold on the photos text to get the popup with options to select the input.

    Cheers, Daniel
