    I suppose I should test this before posting, but is multiple file attachments for importing supported; e.g. separate the file names by a semicolon or have multiple columns with the same field name?

    Yes. Separate the filenames with a semi-colon and Tap Forms will parse that out and import each file separately. The same with photos.
