Since the latest program release, formatting within notes is no longer displayed correctly in the normal view.
For example, bold text is no longer displayed as bold. Instead, it appears as normal text
However, when I open the note in edit mode, the formatting is still present and is displayed correctly in the editor. This suggests that the formatting itself has not been removed, but is simply not being rendered correctly in the normal view.
Example:
The note contains text formatted in bold.
In the normal view: the bold formatting is not visible.
In edit mode: the bold formatting is still present and displayed correctly.
The problem has occurred since the latest release and appears to affect the display of existing formatting.
Expected behavior:
Formatting such as bold, italic, etc. should be displayed correctly in the normal view of the note.
Actual behavior:
Formatting is not visible in the normal view, although it is still present and displayed correctly when editing the note.

I’ve just fixed that issue for the 1.4.1 update I’m working on. Thanks for the bug report. Now the Default Layout Note field value will display the same way as when you edit the note, font sizes, styles, etc.

Suddenly my notes field is black type on a black background and I can’t figure out how to fix it without editing each individual record. Is it compounded with my Mac being in Dark Mode? It seems colors are sometimes the opposite of what I select, back when I was able to select. I hope that makes sense.
If you switch back to light mode, does everything look normal again?
You could try changing the text to pure black and that should then switch automatically to show white text when you’re in Dark mode.

There is another issue with the notes field in the print report. The text size and attributes do not change, neither in preview nor in printout.
Version 1.4.21 (Build 577) is installed.

Hi Detlev,
In which direction? Do you mean the text in a Note field doesn’t size down? Or doesn’t size up? Or that it uses the font size from the Note fields themselves?
You could try turning on the Plain Text Note setting if you want the Note field to have a consistent text size.

Sorry for being not clear regarding this matter…
Please find attached 2 examples for changing the text size (all other text fields have size 12 pt):
1 – Size changed to 18 pt
2 – Size changed to 9 pt
In both cases there is no change on the screen as well as on the pdf-printout.
