Since updating to TFP v1.04 on Mac, when I open a database then toolbar may be empty. Shows when I right click to choose Icon or Icon/Text or Edit Toolbar. This has been inconsistent. Sometimes empty, sometimes not.
Hi Cliff,
If you select the Customize Toolbar function from the View menu, does that fix it?
I’ve seen this happen when you’re using an encrypted document before.
Is your document encrypted?
Thanks,
Brendan
I have 6 database documents, one of which is encrypted. Because I am testing, I have been going back and forth through all of my documents.I don’t remember which document I opened when I first noticed this. As I recall, when it first happened, neither “Icon and Text” nor “Icon Only” had a check mark. I resolved by editing toolbar and dragging default toolbar to toolbar. Yesterday when it happened again, I didn’t try to resolve, I sent my post to this forum. Today when I opened TFP, it had resolved itself.
When this happens agin, I will try figure out what I was doing when this random event occurs.
Thank you – Cliff
OK, Just happened again. Here’s what triggered it:
Started to open an encrypted database. When the dialog box came up to type my password, I closed the window instead of typing in my password. Then I opened a non-encrypted database and the toolbar was empty. I was able to duplicate this a few times.
Now that I know what triggers this, I can avoid. But if it happens it’s easy to restore the toolbar. Hope this helps anyone who stumbles across this rare event.
Always appreciate your help. — Cliff
