If I double-click on a photo field in my database, a photo browser window pops up. If I drag a photo from that browser window to my desktop, a green “+” icon appears on my mouse pointer, indicating that it’s going to deposit a copy of the photo onto my desktop.

But no copy appears after I let go of the mouse button. (I know I can get photos out by using the Export command.)

    Hi Greg,

Hmm… you’re right. It should be making a copy. I’m not sure why it’s not now. What macOS version are you using now? I just tested it with Ventura and it’s not working now. It seems that sometimes Apple changes things with the way drag and drop works and from one version of the OS to the next it can stop working. I’ll look into it.

Sorry for the trouble. For now you’ll have to use the Export Photo command.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

I’m using Monterey (12.5.1), so the problem exists there as well.

Not a huge deal — I can work around it. Thank you.
