cosmosParticipantWhen I open TapForm to add more data I am able to enter data into Note fields immediately but have to wait from 30 to 45 seconds before being able to enter data into any other fields (list, text, date).
I am using iPad mini and Retina.
There is no delay on MacBookAir.
Sync with iCloud.
This has been happening over the last week as I purchased and started using TapForms only 8 days ago.
Please advise best way to stop the delay
Thanks

BrendanKeymasterHello Cosmos,
Can you try running the Vacuum database command on the Database Maintenance screen? Let me know if that helps the performance.
Thanks,
Brendan

cosmosParticipantGreetings
I tried the Vacuum Database command –
then restarted TapForms —
seems it did not work —
as before — the Notes FIeld and the Dates field are not affected
The Text field is what will not open for an extended period — or after opening another form….
The database is small at this point — only 17 records.I also ran the other Maintenance commands
Analyze
Re-Index
Re-Build Search Index
with no change–Database size listed on Database Maintenance pull down = 576.0 kb
Edit – I rebooted ipad before restarting after Vacuum and Analyze –
just restarted after Re-Index and Re-buildthanks for the support

BrendanKeymasterHi Cosmos,
Hmm… This is strange. I haven’t seen this problem before. On my iPad mini I can Launch Tap Forms and start inputting in data pretty much as soon as it finishes launching.
Which iOS version are you using? Also, is your database encrypted? There is a small performance penalty with an encrypted database as it has to encrypt and decrypt the data on the fly as it’s reading from and writing to the database file.
Thanks,
Brendan

cosmosParticipantVersion 6.1.2
But no worry – I found the culprit….
Me…
I created another TapForm exactly like the one that is sticking, and it does not stick.
Neither do either of the other 2 forms I created both on iPad and mini-iPad.
So it points to creator of the database, and the early learning phase I was in when I created the database.
Bad part is I do not know what I did to cause to delay.
Good part is that I have not been able to recreate the issue!!!
You have made great strides with TapForms, I remember the early days of TapForms a year or two ago when my limited knowledge and the new program did not get along.
With this new version I am making sure to show this to all my colleagues because it works so well.
Tanks for the support
