On a custom layout, can you change the default white background to, say, a jpeg? I know I can put a custom image in the layout and make it really big, with other things on top of it, but the white borders bug me for some reason.

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,

Not at the moment, but I would like to add theme or background image support to a future update.

    Thanks!

You could also drag out a rectangle to fit the area and put it in the background.

But the area changes depending on the window you are using surely, or at least that is my experience.

    Hi Roger,

Unless you set the “Design for” option to Printer. Then it will be fixed to the size of the page you’ve selected.

    Thanks,

    Hi Scott,

Well you can now set a custom background colour on a layout in version 3.5 for Mac.

But if you want an image, just drag out an image using the image tool (not a Photo field), and then select an image. Then lock it on the Layers tab. Put it in the background by dragging it up to the top of the Layers list.

See attached sample. Yes, it looks terrible, but you get the idea :-)
