Melanie SchaafParticipantHi,
I’ve been using Tap Forms Pro for a couple of weeks now, and I am in the middle of transferring all my databases from Tap Forms 5 to Tap Forms pro.
One of my databases deals with colors and color palettes, and one of its forms has each record in a specific color. It is a thread database, and having the records itself show up in a specific color, helps me find what I am looking for.
“Specific” is the keyword here, because I have noticed, that Tap Form Pro seems to alter the colors of the records to something else, which in this case is a real problem for me.
A simple example: One of the records colors is black (Hex #000000). When I opened the transferred database, I noticed that the record is no longer black but dark grey instead (Hex #272727). This in itself is problematic enough, as this would mean that I’d have to check and correct more than 150 records for the correct colors. Only I can’t even do that, because when I tried to correct the black record, and manually picked the correct color in the color dialog, it switches the record color to black at first, but once I click on a different record, the black one reverts back to dark grey.
The little color indicator at the bottom of the screen shows black/dark grey with a diagonal separator as the current record color. It happens on most of the other colors as well.
At first I thought this might have something to do with dark mode, but I don’t even use a custom layout and I don’t see how to switch off the use of dark mode when there is no custom layout. It is switched off in the Settings, but as I understood it, this should only affect the sidebar…
Additionally, I noticed this problem not only with record colors but with colors in general. Field backgrounds, font colors, and everything else seems to be affected, too. It seems that Tap Forms Pro has a limited pallet. It lets you pick any color, but then it silently reverts it to something close to what you picked, but not exactly what you picked.
I hope this is just a bug and can be remedied…
Best,
Melanie

BrendanKeymasterHi Melanie,
Would you be able to email me some screenshots in Tap Forms 5 and Tap Forms Pro so I can see the differences you’re referring to?
Or if you’d like to email me a backup file from Tap Forms 5 then I can migrate that here and take a look into the differences to see what’s happening in the code.
Thanks,
Brendan
