LaurentParticipantHi Brendan,
MacOS 26.0
Tap Forms Pro 1.0.11All my bullet texts in rich text note field disappeared after updating to 1.0.11. Still there on iOs…
Would you please have a look ?
Thanks a lot !
LaurentSeptember 21, 2025 at 1:05 PM #53003
John SimpsonParticipantSeeing the same behaviour here too.
Glad it’s not just me, I’ve been chasing my tail for an hour trying to correct the missing bullets.
Cheers,
JohnSeptember 22, 2025 at 7:15 PM #53004
BrendanKeymasterI’ll look into this issue.
That’s weird. Maybe it’s a Tahoe issue. Looks fine on macOS Sequoia. 1.0.11 is the first build that was made on Tahoe though. So it’s not something I’ve directly done. But I’ll see if I can figure out what’s happening.
Thanks,
Brendan

LaurentParticipantHello Brendan,
I have just updated to 1.0.12 but the bullet formatting, reported in my first message above, is still NOK.
When do you plan to correct the bug ? This is important for my workflow.
Thank you,
LaurentOctober 7, 2025 at 7:47 PM #53063
BrendanKeymasterWhoops, sorry about that.
I see what you mean now. I just tested it on Tahoe and it looks ok initially, but when I save it, and enter the Note field again, they disappear. No idea why just yet.

BrendanKeymasterI’ve found the reason for this issue. I believe it’s an Apple bug, but I have found a workaround for it.
The next update will have the fix and your bullets should re-appear. They’re not gone. They’re just not being displayed by macOS Tahoe.

John SimpsonParticipantMac OS Version 1.0.13 just installed here, problem solved 👍
Many thanks,
JohnOctober 30, 2025 at 11:09 AM #53144
BrendanKeymasterHi John,
Excellent! I’m glad the update solved the issue.
Thanks,
Brendan

LaurentParticipantHi Brendan,
Thank you for the update, which solved the issue in the default presentation, still the bullets are missing in printed reports…
Would you please have a look ?
Thank you,
LaurentNovember 5, 2025 at 12:28 AM #53165
BrendanKeymasterHmm… printed reports. Ok, I’m going to have to look into that issue. I had only investigated it in the default and custom layouts.
November 5, 2025 at 12:28 AM #53166
BrendanKeymasterIs it a custom layout printout or the default layout printout?
November 5, 2025 at 1:28 AM #53169
LaurentParticipantIt is the report from default layout

John SimpsonParticipantIf it will help here are my observations, using Tap Forms on Mac, iPad and iPhone.
Bullets in text Notes now show correctly on screen, in all views, before and after synch between devices.
Bullets in text Notes print correctly in custom reports on Mac.
Bullets in text Notes do not appear in default reports on Mac, iPad and iPhone. They do not appear in the print dialogue thumbnail views, nor in the physical print.Cheers,
JohnNovember 8, 2025 at 1:02 AM #53174
BrendanKeymasterSo this is proving to be difficult to deal with now on macOS Tahoe. I don’t know why, but Apple’s stripping out the bullets sometimes and not other times. When I pass off the attributed string (which contains the bulleted text), to the PDF generator framework I use, the bullets do not appear.
In fact, even in Xcode they do not appear when debugging to display the attributed string.
However, if I tell Xcode to open the attributed string in the TextEdit application, the bullets are there.
So the bullets are there, they’re just not being rendered by the PDF generator framework. That’s a 3rd party open-source framework I’m using, so it may be difficult to get that to work.

LaurentParticipantHi Brendan,
Version 1.0.14 (Build 409)
The bullet pb re-appeared with this last version in the rich text note field : bullet are not visible.
After using and paying for the Pro version since May, I have to say that I am disappointed with the number of bugs. I rely a lot on your software suite for my work and lost of lot time with all the issues. Tap Forms 5 was more reliable to me.

LaurentDecember 10, 2025 at 11:50 AM #53352
BrendanKeymasterHi Laurent,
I’ll look into this again. Yes, I see that’s the case again where the bullets are being removed again.
It may be due to the function for limiting the number of lines that can be displayed on the default layout for a Note field.
I’m just debugging it now.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

BrendanKeymasterOk, I found the issue with the bullets disappearing. I still think it’s an Apple bug. It’s the same thing as before. Whenever I reference the NSLayoutManager to do things like determine the height of the text view given a specific width, Apple no longer renders the bullets.
I’ve come up with a way of determining the height of the text view without using the NSLayoutManager.
That seems to have fixed it.
Thanks,
Brendan

LaurentParticipantHi Brendan,
Thank you for the positive feedback.
When do you plan to push the new update ?
Thanks,
LaurentDecember 18, 2025 at 4:19 PM #53373
BrendanKeymasterWell, I’m in the middle of a new sync algorithm at the moment, so it’ll be after I’m done with that. I haven’t yet submitted it to my beta testers yet. So it’s going to be a little while. Know that your bullets are still there. They’re just not being rendered on screen unfortunately.
I’ll see how it goes with my sync development. If it starts taking me too long, I’ll just release an update without it.
Thanks,
Brendan
