I have been slowly migrating my Bento libraries into Tap Forms. With the Bento incompatibility issues with Yosemite and El Capitan I am still using Mavericks. In the next few days I will be performing a clean install of El Capitan and have finished the Tap Forms backup. After installing Tap Forms and restoring from the backup, is everything going to look and act the same? My main concern is the forms and photos. I would rather not have to re-format the fields within the forms.

I guess I just need some reassurance that it will be a seamless transition.

    Hi John,

Should be ok. When you use the Backup command in the File menu, Tap Forms makes a .zip file which contains all form data and photo files. When you restore, it simply unzips that file into the right location.

I don’t foresee any troubles with that. It’s a common thing to do.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Thanks very much, Brendan. I keep backups and templates on an external drive, so I’ll be making the big switch to El Capitan shortly. It should be interesting since the backup file size is 2.33gb! That is about 50,000 records with a photo for each record.

    Regards,
    John
