I am a new user, and still exploring how to use the program. I am currently using TapForms for my work with appraisals of art. I created a form for a collection, and I would like to export the data into a Microsoft Word report. I would like to create a table that includes the image attached to each record from TapForms.

I understand how to export, but how do I get the information into a Microsoft Word document?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Triceratops,

Well, you could use the Print function and generate a PDF file from that. But that would then basically become an image inside of Word.

If you’re wanting to do something like a Mail Merge function whereby bits of data from Tap Forms is injected into a Word document, then you can actually do that inside Tap Forms itself. To do a mail merge, create a custom layout, drag out a static text block (the A button at the top-right of the inspector panel), then enter your text. Wherever you want dynamic data to be injected into the document, surround the field name with square brackets.

    For example:

    Dear [First Name],

Your account is now $[Amount Due] over due.

    Sincerely,

    The Management

You can even do text formatting on your content too.

To see the results, use the Print function.

    Thanks!

    Dear Brendan,
Thank you for your message, I will try to work with the mail merge.

How do I send the image into the mail merge?

    Again, thank you!

Well, you can’t embed an image directly into the mail merge text, but you can add a Photo field to your custom layout and put your static text block near it. So in that way you can have the image and the mail merge text in the same page.

I was looking for a simpler process, and I found that I can just export the TapForms into an Excel file, then select the cells I want to use, and paste the section into a Word Document. I am sure you know this, but I just wanted to state it for anyone searching for a solution to embed Tap Forms data into a Word document. It doesn’t have to be a pdf file, and it can be edited in a table within Word.
