Stuart McGrathParticipantHi All,
I have decide to use tap form to manage my up and coming wedding. So far, I have setup the following:
1) a people form based on the client form.
2) a family form which is a link form to people to form group\family.
3) a Important date which I will use for dates like party\wedding and other dates.Future List
4) a Present list
5) a table arrangeDue to the way tap form handle query, I have a collection of search based on some values in the person form. They are:
1) whether they are a adult or child
2) who side of the family
3) Whether they coming;
i) yes
ii) no
iii) Maybe
iv) No replyWhat I want to know, is it possible to create table based on a form value or search. Which I feel is a layout option but still getting my head around how it works. So looking for some advice how best to managed the data around person? Should I focus on layouts, forms or search for creating this information.
Lastly, if anyone else has done something similar with Tap form, any tips or tweaks would be great.

BrendanKeymasterHi Stuart,
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! That was 26 years ago for me :) Still married to the same girl :)
When you create a search within Tap Forms, it’s simply a way of filtering records to display just those records which match the search rules criteria you’ve specified. It doesn’t really have anything to do with the layouts or how your data is displayed at all. Although for each search you can decide what fields will display in the result set.
With the Default Layout being built for you as you add fields, you don’t really have to worry about layouts. Layouts are great for customizing the look of your form and for printing purposes (or labels), but you can get going pretty quickly just by using the Default Layout.
You should always start with creating your form because that’s really the main starting point of doing anything within Tap Forms. From there you define the fields and relationships to other forms as I believe you’ve already done.
I didn’t have Tap Forms available to me when I got married, so I don’t have a wedding template that would be helpful for you. Perhaps someone else has done one.
Thanks!
Brendan
