view vs layout?

Hi
Is a view a (very useful) pre-prepared layout that can them be edited to make a (custom) layout?

Hi Mary,

Do you mean can the Default Layout be turned into a custom layout? If so, then no. But if you create a new layout, then select all the fields (or a bunch of them) from the Fields list on the bottom-right, then Tap Forms will put the fields one on top of each other with the field labels on the left in a similar fashion to the Default Layout. But it will never be exactly like that because the Default Layout is generated with an algorithm and a custom layout is generated by you by hand with fixed positions for each of the layout objects.
