Hi all.
(Currently trying to evaluate TapForms’ suitability to replace ListOmni on iPhone and Filemaker Pro on Mac).
How realistic is it to expect to be able to develop “forms” on the Mac and then just move them over to the iPhone (which is the intended platform for actual use).
There is no trial version for the iPhone version so I can’t actually try it out myself.
Given the differences between the two platforms (screen size and orientation, of course, but also paradigm differences: menu and keyboard vs gestures), I can’t help but wonder if this is realistic…
What do you think? Are you doing it?
Thanks!
Hi M_Ichel,
You can certainly do that. But when a form is displayed on the iOS version, what you see is very similar to the Default Layout from the Mac version. Basically a list of field labels and the fields on top of each other in a scrollable table.
There is also the photo grid view, the multi-column list view, and the single column list view on the iOS version just like the Mac version. There’s no calendar or map view though. But there is still the Location field which displays a single location on the map.
So basically custom layouts that you can drag and drop to place fields anywhere on the screen that you like on the Mac version is not available on the iOS version.
Thanks,
Brendan
