brought my data in from bento to my iPad just fine. It’s a sales record. How on earth due I get calculated total sales, total costs etc as there appears to be no list view on the iPad. Any help will ease my current headache..
Thanks, in anticiapation. John
Hi John,
Set the Calculation Type property on your fields and you’ll see a popup at the bottom of the records list view. You can tap on that to display all the totals for all the fields you’ve set the Calculation Type property on. You can find the Calculation Type property in the Field Options screen.
Thanks,
Brendan
Thanks for that…But..I don’t have a Mac, just the Ipad, and there is no view menu.
I have done exactly what you say and totally understand but there is no pop-up menu I can assure you.
Please help, so frustrated as I am an ex-systems analyst!
John
Hello John,
I was actually referring to the iOS version in my instructions, not the Mac version. The iOS version has only the equivalent of the Mac’s “Single Column List View”.
To set the Calculation Type on the iOS version, tap on the Customize Form option on the action menu when viewing a record. Then tap on a Number, Rating, Calculation, or Checkmark field. Then tap on the Field Options function. Then tap on the Calculation Type setting. You can choose “Total” as the option or Minimum, Maximum, or Average.
Once you’ve set that up, at the bottom of the records list view for your form, you’ll see a total displayed for one of your fields. Tap on it and you’ll see a popover view display showing you the results of the Calculation Type settings for each of your fields where you have that set. You can switch which one is displayed by default by tapping on it.
Thanks!
Brendan
