    Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago, I started using TapForms Pro after having worked with TapForms 5 for several years without any issues. In my daily work, I rely heavily on a single document in which I store multiple dictionaries and also create my own custom ones to support my translation work.

One of my forms contains around 6,500 records. Each record includes several text fields, some of which hold up to 500 words on average. While TapForms 5 always handled this form smoothly, I’ve been experiencing significant performance problems with TapForms Pro. At times, I have to wait up to 2 minutes for the app to respond after a simple interaction.

Since I use this document daily in my professional work, this issue has made the application almost unusable for me.

Has anyone experienced similar performance problems with larger documents in TapForms Pro? Are there any known workarounds or settings that might help?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Hi Goutalco,

Would you be able to email me your document (support@tapforms.com) so I can see where the performance problems might be? I’d like to resolve this issue.

Also, try updating to the 1.0.4 release and see if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

    Hi Brendan,

Thank you so much for your quick and thoughtful response. I really appreciate your willingness to help personally.

I’ve just emailed the document to support@tapforms.com as requested. I hope it helps identify the performance issues I’ve been experiencing. I’m also updating to version 1.0.4 now to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks again for your support and for your dedication to making TapForms better.

For anyone else with this issue, it turns out every record in the form had a record colour set on it and that caused Tap Forms Pro to do a lot of fetching from the database. Changing the record colour for all records to the transparent black/white setting (which clears out the record colour value) solved the problem. I’ve also just written some code that will allow all records to have a colour set on them without incurring a performance penalty when the records are initially fetched.

Thanks for sending me the file Goutalco. That really helped me fix the issue.
