P DeliParticipantHello,
I managed to transfer a document from my Mac (macOS 10.12.6) to both my iPhone (iOS 12.1) and my iPad (iOS 12.1.1) as per these instructions: Sending to Another Device.
Then I proceeded to transfer the records contained the Mac’s Tap Forms to the iOS devices by following these instructions: iCloud Sync
However, when I open the the document in my iPad, everything’s fine, but not in the iPhone. In the latter, Face ID opens Tap Forms, but when I tap the database in question, Face ID shows its animation, shows the check, but never gets inside.
I tried several times to delete the document, re-import it and re-sync it, to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
pdeliP.S.: another funny thing, in the iPad, although the document in question shows a lock on it, no passcode or Touch ID are required in order to access the data. The exact opposite of what is going on in the iPhone.

BrendanKeymasterHi P Dell,
Ok, so on the iPhone, instead of letting FaceID do its thing, hold the phone horizontal so it doesn’t recognize your face, then tap on the Face ID icon to let it ask you for a password. Type in the password used to open the document, then go to the Security Settings screen and see if everything looks setup properly there.
Did you use the Send Document function to transfer the document to your iPad too? Or did you use the iCloud sync function to do that? When downloading the data from iCloud instead of using the Send Document function on an encrypted document, the data won’t actually be encrypted. It’s encrypted during transport to iCloud, then when downloading from iCloud, the data is also encrypted during transport, but not when stored on the device. You have to re-encrypt the document on each device independently. Unless you already sent an already encrypted document from one device to another using the Send Document function, which is what it sounds like happened to the iPhone.
Thanks,
Brendan
