Jon CageParticipantI downloaded one of the templates to Tap Forms Pro on my Macbook Pro and began to populate the Form with data. I then tried to sync using iCloud sync and only some records came across to my iPhone and iPad and many of the records that did sync were missing data. I have tried to turn sync off and on, rebooted my devices etc and nothing seems to work. Any ideas on how to get sync to work properly?

Jon CageParticipantBrendan emailed me and I discovered that there is a specific sequence that you have to go through in setting up a new document and getting it to sync across devices. Once I did this syncing seems to work. Thanks Brendan for your quick response!

BrendanKeymasterExcellent. I’m glad that worked for you.
For anyone else stumbling on this thread, please see the video I made on how to sync between devices on my YouTube channel:

GattopardiParticipantI’m also experiencing synchronization issues. Even after deleting the document from iCloud, an older version of the document keeps overwriting the most recent one. I’ve been trying everything recommended for a day now, without success. The issue seems to be that only some changes are syncing, while others are not.

Jon CageParticipantBrendan,
I just purchased an iPhone 17 Air and upgraded to iOS 26. My databases are not syncing properly. Paricularly, the pick lists are not populating correctly…some missing large amounts of data. Syncing is fine on my iPad Pro and Macbook Pro. I have deleted the document numerous times on the iPhone and resynched but am experiencing the same issues. Any ideas?September 28, 2025 at 7:41 AM #53030
Barry ShevlinParticipantI, too, have been having sync issues with iCloud. Very hit-and-miss, particularly with Note field content. I’ve spent hours trying to troubleshoot and resolve the problem, but I’m still unable to regain confidence in the stability of iCloud sync. I’ve had to switch to Nearby sync, which by definition has limitations. I’m glad it’s not just me, but I feel for fellow sufferers!

Jon CageParticipantYes very frustrating when there are mission critical synching needs! I need to be able to rely on Tap Forms Pro
to synch reliably. I hope Brendan will be able to supply a solution to this issue soon for sure.September 28, 2025 at 7:00 PM #53034
BrendanKeymasterSo when you re-download the document from the iCloud Documents screen, you’re finding that the Pick List values are not all there?
That’s odd.
I did just test that out with a new document syncing Pick Lists and their values and it did work in both directions. Although to see the updated values I had to select a different Pick List on the Mac and then back to the one I had updated on the iPhone to see the changes. Also to speed up the testing I clicked the sync now button myself instead of waiting for the sync timer to initiate the sync.
Everything seemed to work in both directions. So I’m not sure what specific scenario has caused the Pick Lists not to sync for you.
Perhaps if you’d like to send me a backup of your document I can test syncing it here to see what might be causing the issue for you.
Thanks,
Brendan
