LeoC2ParticipantI was just testing setting my iPad to be a personal hotspot over cellular when there is no WIFI available. I set it up and had two iPods access the iPad hotspot.
All seems fine but I notice that form data is synced fine on the iPods but the iPad (which is accessing cellular) does not sync. Sync resums when I switch the iPad back over to WIFI.
It seems TapForms requires WIFI to sync and won’t sync over celluar data network. Is this the case?

David ButenhofParticipantIt should work just fine. Check your Settings > Cellular on the iPad. Do you have “Cellular Data” enabled?
If it is, scroll all the way down to find TapForms in the “Use Cellular Data For” list to be sure that it’s not disabled there.
I sync my iPhone via cellular all the time, with TapForms and other iCloud apps. It definitely works.
I almost asked if you might have been Roaming, with Data Roaming disabled; but if your other devices were syncing through the cellular Hot Spot, presumably that’s not the problem. The Cellular Data settings on the device seem a more likely culprit.

BrendanKeymasterThe only thing that Tap Forms does with regards to this is it checks to see if you have an Internet connection or not. If there’s no Internet connection, then Tap Forms won’t try to sync. Although you can tap the upload to iCloud button all you want, it won’t download any data or try to process any sync files if there’s no Internet connection.

LeoC2ParticipantApparently it did eventually work, it just took a very long time before it updated on the iPad. iPods and iPhones updated much more frequently.
Does the iPod app update less frequently?

BrendanKeymasterHi Leo,
No, there’s nothing in Tap Forms to tell it to sync more slowly or more quickly depending on your device type. They all execute the same syncing code, even the Mac version.
Thanks,
Brendan
