I recently set up two new linked forms on a document which syncs with both an iPad and an iPhone.
The sequence was as follows:
– Set up two new forms on a Test Document on my Mac Mini. The forms have a linked field, linking two separate fields in either direction.
– Once working successfully, an archive was created of both forms
– On my wife’s MacBook, I imported one of the forms, which automatically imported the other linked form. (I discovered that I had to import the correct form, for the second to import automatically. If I did not import the correct initial form, the second did not import.)
– the import was made to a document which already synced with my wife’s iPad and iPhone.
The syncing via the cloud (IBM Cloudant) did not work. I tried cancelling the auto sync, also tried deleting the document for the iPad, and re-sending it from the MacBook. At first it imported correctly, when sent again, but then the auto syncing (subsequently set up) deleted all the records from one of the documents, one document was no longer listed, and the second contained no records.
Help!
I’ll happily send the back-ups, if that would help – there is no secret in them!
I hope that you can help
John
Hi John,
Sure, email me your backup file so I can see what’s up with it.
If you had deleted records from one of the forms, then after you setup sync, those records would be deleted on the other device too. That’s a normal thing with syncing.
