Shawn BerthelParticipantHello Brendan, I doubt you will remember me, but we have chatted here before. It has just been a while. I now own an iPad Pro, and I want to switch to the iOS version of your software. It’s one of the few I can find with the quality of security you offer, without the monthly fee most of the others charge. But I am not sure how to go about setting that up. Since I have the current desktop version, do I need to buy the iOS version, or no? Wasn’t sure. And then if I do need to download the app, how do I transfer the files from the desktop app to the iOS app? I have the most current 5.x version of the desktop. Thanks Brendan. I hope you are well. BrendanKeymasterHi Shawn, Yes, you do have to purchase the iOS version separately. To send a copy of your database document to your iOS device, make sure you close any opened document on the iOS version so that you’re just sitting on the main Documents screen. And close the document you want to send on the Mac version. With the main Database Documents window open on the Mac version, select the document you want to send to the iOS device and select the Send Document function from the File menu. There’s instructions on how to do it here in the manual: https://www.tapforms.com/help-mac/5.3/en/topic/send-to-another-device Thanks! Brendan June 27, 2019 at 4:37 PM #35545
Shawn BerthelParticipantHello Brendan, Okay, so I just bought the iOS app (yes, you’re welcome). :-). Success! I was able to successfully move the content of the desktop version to the iPad. So, if I update one platform, will it update the other platform, or would I need to send an update to either side (whichever one would be least current)? In other words, are they now linked together? Thank you for the help. Shawn June 27, 2019 at 4:57 PM #35546
BrendanKeymasterHi Shawn, Thanks for purchasing the iOS version too! You need to configure sync between them. See the Syncing topic in the online manual and choose which one is best for you: https://www.tapforms.com/help-mac/5.3/en/topic/syncing Thanks! Brendan
