Kaija PellinenParticipantI’ve been trying to get my Sync service switched to Dropbox. When I click on the DB button, I can put in my username and password, select the folder I’d like the sync files to be placed in, then I finish out the process, and the bar freezes before it can complete. It will sit there indefinitely until I have to force quit.
I’ve tried to uninstall/reinstall, and start the process again. That doesn’t seem to help. It worked quickly and efficiently on my other computer. I’ve attached a screenshot to show what I mean.
Any advice?

BrendanKeymasterThe only time the Disabling Sync Service message displays is when you press the None button. Is that what you’re doing there?
Try resetting the preferences in Tap Forms and try enabling Dropbox again.
To reset the preferences, quit Tap Forms, launch the Terminal application and copy and paste the following command into the Terminal window:
defaults delete com.tapforms.macPress Return after.
Then launch Tap Forms and try again.
Thanks,
Brendan

Kaija PellinenParticipantI’ve tried that, and it still seems to be happening. I have the most up-to-date version of TapForms

BrendanKeymasterI’m really quite puzzled about why this is happening. You’re not the only one. And some people have it working just fine on one Mac but not the other. I don’t know what the difference is between them.
Do you see any error messages in the Console application while trying to enable sync? I’ve seen some people having troubles connecting to the Dropbox servers from within Tap Forms. Some sort of error like this:
DBHTTPRequest.mm:535: Unknown authentication method NSURLAuthenticationMethodServerTrust for Dropbox hostDo you see anything like that?

LeoParticipantBrendan,
I think underneath Dropbox is asking for permission but somehow this doesn’t show on screen. Could be something with Safari,
I had this too, I opened Safari before switching and at the freeze I went to Safari to give permission.
Maybe this is the problem.

BrendanKeymasterHi Leo,
How was Safari asking for permission to access Dropbox? That’s very interesting.
Someone else asked this question on the Dropbox API forum here:
I’ve replied a couple of times to try and get help with this, but nobody is answering me from Dropbox.
Thanks,
Brendan

BrendanKeymasterHi Leo,
That’s odd because it normally gets displayed inside Tap Forms when you click on the Dropbox icon. Are you referring to the Mac version Leo?
