I’ve downloaded TF5 on two machines.

I’ve imported my previous TF3 database on both machines from the same file.
Neither laptop or iMac can see each other on the same network.
I can’t get Clloudnant to work – have set up accounts, have used the same accounts. Errors – database doesn’t exist etc.
I just want to sync my forms! I’d prefer to use nearby, but ANYTHING will do if I can just get it to work.
The videos don’t help because they only show Nearby working if one installation can see the other computer on the network, which in my case it can’t.

I really liked Tapforms 3, and I only downloaded it recently. I only upgraded to 5 because Dropbox Sync was starting to have issues, and now this is all starting to look like an overcomplicated expensive mess.

    Why isn’t this easier?

    Hi Jason,

    Sorry for the troubles.

It sounds like there was one step you were missing. You migrated your database twice. At least I think that’s what you mean by saying “I’ve imported my previous TF3 database on both machines from the same file.”

If so, then you need to migrate only one time. Then copy the already migrated document over to your other device. If the Send Document function doesn’t show all your devices, then use some other way to get the file over. You can use AirDrop or regular file sharing, or even email the .tapforms document to your other device. However you would normally get a file from one Mac to the other, use the same technique with your .tapforms document.

Once you have the same document on each device you’ll have a much easier time getting them to sync.

Basically Tap Forms can’t sync two separately migrated documents to each other. It can only sync a copy of the same already migrated document.
