    Hi Brendan.

I know everything is not easy when programing, but would it be possible to add a menu item “Insert Date and Time”, especially into a Note field? When I reach out to people I ussually add talked xx,xx,xxxx 10.003AM. Something like Bento used to have?

And speaking of Note. When I want to add something like and update of when I talk or leave a message for someone, you need to activate the Note window, add whatever, Save and then close. Is there a way to just be able to click in a Note cell to get a cursor and then just type in the info?

I looked at the Form > Fields options and it looks like I can change type to Text, but it there is a warning that it could alter all my entries of which I have a lot.

If not, then I’ll adapt to this. But a date stamp would be cool.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for the feature request. Even though it might seem like a simple thing to add, one issue that could make it more complicated would be the choice of what date format to use. Right now in Tap Forms on a Date field you have the ability to specify different date and time formats. But with an Insert Date and Time function, what format should I use? Invariably I would select the wrong one or I’d have to give customers a way of specifying what the default date format should be for the Insert Date and Time function.

An alternative choice might be to use a program such as TextExpander which would let you type in a quick series of characters to have it automatically add the date and time. I know they had a “ddate” shortcut which if typed, would insert the current date into any field in any app.

As for editing the Note, if you just press command-w to close the window, Tap Forms will prompt you to save, then pressing the Return key will save it. So it’s a quick command-w return to save and close the Note edit window. But you could also create a custom layout that includes your Note field which you can just click in to type out your note value. You just have to click outside of the field to another field to save the value.
