Keld_DenmarkParticipantI like the new version 5, especially the option to split one big database in several smaller – but it will not work for me.
I have done it the following way:
Open the master database.
Choosing the form I want to export. (File/Export/TapForms Archive)
In the database window, I choose (New Database Document)
I open the new empty database and import the data (File/Import/TapForms Archive).
This does not work – what am I doing wrong?August 5, 2016 at 9:25 AM #18146
LeoParticipantTry importing the database twice and delete the forms you don’t need in that specific database.
I did that and it works like a charm.

Mike LapchynskiParticipantI used the same way as Leo. Worked well. You can also delete pick lists that are no longer used.

BrendanKeymasterKeld,
The Tap Forms Archive option should work.
What about it isn’t working for you?
After the import, there may be a new category created. Switch to the All Forms view and make sure it’s expanded.

Keld_DenmarkParticipantThank You for Your help.
I did solve my problem. I was a little stupid and forgot to expand my form.August 9, 2016 at 8:23 AM #18373
Walter JohnsonParticipantI tried out the Export->Archive with a database selected in one document then Import->Archive in another document and the database moved with no trouble. After I verified it in the new document, I deleted it in the old document. Right before you do stuff like this is a great time to back up both documents.

Frances ChermanParticipantHow long should the “export archive” function take? I’m exporting one form containing one record (although the record does contain six images). The activity windows has not changed (see screenshot) in the past five minutes, and I cannot exit it by pressing
CMD.orESCAPE. Have I crashed? I should add that I started the process from within the “edit record” mode, which was probably unwise.

Frances ChermanParticipantI just answered my own question: I determined that I had crashed, so I force-quit the application, reopened the file, and then used the “Export Archive” / “Import Archive” process described above. It worked perfectly, and the export took mere seconds.
