Sort not working after search

Hi Brendan,
when i search for a movie for example TOPAS in my database, i cannot sort the results row “Date from” wich is a database field. When i sort the hole movie-database, everything ist all right.

Is this when using a Saved Search? Or just by typing into the Search field?

And is it the Mac or iOS version?

Ah ok. The sorting for a general search is derived from the sort setting of the form itself. So you would have to change it there and then do your search if you want the results in a different order.

normally i can sort my data bei clicken in the row for ascending or descending sort. This works fine, but not after the search with the results.

Do you also have your records grouped? If so then that may be affecting the sort. I just tested sorting after searching with the general search by clicking the triangle and it worked fine. But I didn’t have the Group Records By setting selected. It was set to < Unspecified >. When you click the triangles at the top in the field header row, that only changes the First Sort Field for the form. It doesn’t change the Group Records By setting. But the Group Records By setting takes priority over the First Sort Field, so maybe that’s why you’re not seeing any change when you change the sort order after searching?

sorry, how can i? In this table are about 12000 records. This one group is first sorted bei date of creation and second on title.
I can change this by using the triangle. So far, so good. After the search: this did not work any more.

Hello Brendan,

i can send you the file, the archive is about 13 MB.

I find out, that the Problem is inside my hole data. After exporting one Part (movies), making a new Database and importing the archive, the Problem is still the same.

Ad wich Adress do you want to have the File?
