Syncing between Mac and iPad Air does not work. The Ipad is shown as registered on my Mac and iPhone and on the iPad the Mac and iPhone are also shown as registered devices. I have reset iCloud sync several times on all devices and disable/enable iCloud in iOS and OS X settings. Also restarting all devices makes no difference. All devices use “old” iCloud, not iCloud Drive and no family sharing. I have not set secret keys, that should not be te problem. Syncing between iMac and iPhone works perfect, but iPad syncing (with Mac or iPhone) does not. It generates an error message saying I have te reset syncing, use latest versions and use the correct secret keys. Tried it over and over again, read and tried the forum suggestions but all without succes. Please tell me how I can solve this.

    My hard- and software:

    – iPhone 5 iOS 8.0.2
    – iPad Air iOS 8.0.2
    – Mac OS X 10.9.5
    – Tap Forms iPhone and iPad 3.8.3
    – Tap Forms Mac 2.2.3

    Hi Hans,

You can solve it by setting the same encryption key on all of your devices. I know you said you’re not using them, but really, that will fix it for you. As long as all devices can see each other and you have the same encryption keys set on each device, then sync will work.

You don’t have to actually encrypt the database, just set the keys.

    Thanks,

Thank you Brendan, now syncing works. Maybe using an encryption should be mandatory within the app. But I’m happy now ;-)

In the next update for Tap Forms for iOS I have put the Set Encryption Key button on the iCloud Sync screen with a note telling users that each of the registered devices should have the same encryption key. Hopefully that will help avoid some of the confusion.

    Thanks!
