Chris JuParticipantHello everyone,
I wanted to share my experience with Tap Forms Pro (Version 1.0.4 (338)) running on macOS 15.5 (Build 24F74), hoping someone might have insights or solutions.
I’ve encountered a major issue with the sync functionality when using WebDAV on my Synology NAS. The first sync on one machine took about 1 hour. However, syncing the second machine took an astonishing 6 hours, even though sync was disabled on all other devices during this process. I’m certain it’s not a network speed issue since I’m connected via local LAN with full speed.
My database was approximately 500 MB in TF5. After the first sync in TF Pro, it grew to 1.5 GB, and on other machines, it expanded further to 1.85 GB. I haven’t tried other sync methods yet.
Now my third machine finally completed syncing after roughly 5 hours. Reactivating the sync on my primary machine now results in a continuous sync process that takes at the moment 20 minutes, and TF Pro hangs during this. This makes the application practically unusable.
Could WebDAV settings be the cause of these slow sync speeds? Has anyone experienced similar issues or found effective solutions?
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Daniel LeuParticipantHi Chris, I’m using WebDAV for syncing with a QNAP. It’s normal that your database grows, but, AFAIK, it only should double in size due to the synchronization framework being used. My biggest DB is 90 MB and it doubled to 180 MB. Syncing just takes a few seconds. The initial sync was less than a minute.
Googling a bit, there’s a speed limit setting for WebDAV on Synology’s NAS. I’d check that this is turned off.
Otherwise, I would try to run a speedtest with iperf3 to see what the basic performance of your NAS is when using WebDAV.
Good luck!

Chris JuParticipantThanks Daniel, I’ve taken a closer look at the matter and consulted with an AI friend to find a solution. I’ve found one and created a guide (see attachment). This has significantly improved performance for me. I do not assume any liability ;-) …
Have fun and good luck!

BrendanKeymasterI’m glad you found a solution to the performance problem with WebDAV. That’s a very nice guide you made!
Do you mind if I put a link to it on my Support page?
