I want to create an Invoice and so need to select Fields from a ‘Link to Form’ connection … OR, select a particular Form Layout as the output. Is this possible?

I feel that the easiest process would be to have the option to select a Layout style when placing a ‘Link to Form’ field in a Layout.

This whole process creates connections between three Forms ‘Clients’, ‘Jobs’ and ‘Accounts’.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

    Hi Neil,

Tap Forms represents the Link to Form field on a custom layout as a table of values. There’s no function to select a “sub-layout” or to select individual fields from the linked form. But you can turn off fields that you don’t want to see in the table by clicking on the little tool button at the top-right of the table.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Brendan,

Are there plans to offer such a thing, which seems incredibly powerful and useful? Or, am I not appreciating a complexity in programming here?

    Best regards,

    Hi Neil,

Anything is possible with the future of Tap Forms given enough time. There are a couple thousand things that I have yet to add to Tap Forms and each one of them has to be carefully though out and understood. So I can’t guarantee that anyone’s specific features will be implemented, and if they are, I can’t say specifically when. It’s really more of a ‘when I get around to it’ sort of thing based on what other things I’m currently working on. Some feature requests are definitely much larger than others though, so I have to also take that into consideration. The current one I’m working on is probably the biggest change to the app I’ve ever worked on. And for the most part it will be transparent to you, but will improve performance, reduce database file size, and provide a much better sync experience. All other feature requests come secondary at the moment to this current project.

    Thanks,

    Brendan
