LJ JonesParticipantIs there a way to keep a running inventory. I’ve tried several things but no joy.
I have a Real estate sign placement co with several offices each with their own inventory. I am wanting to maintain an inventory of what is out and on hand for each individual office.
Thanks

BrendanKeymasterYou can add a Number field to your form and then enter the inventory quantity in it.
You can also have Tap Forms display the total of the inventory quantity field down below the list of records.
Is that what you’re wanting to do?

scneophyteParticipant@LJ Jones For my own practice I’m building a template for you to check out. It’s almost finished but I have a question for Brendan first:
@Brendon: I am aware of how to display the total at the bottom of the list of records. My question is: sometimes that button is a popover that, when clicked, provides option to change which field is being displayed. This also seems to correlate to the same columns that show statistics when looking at a parent forms display of linked records.
So my question is: how did I get it to store extra options in the popover / parent form?
@LJ Jones I hope you don’t mind me asking this question in your post…

BrendanKeymasterThat popup is derived from each field that has the Summary Calculation option set on it. You can set that on multiple fields and on the multi-column list view you’ll see it at the bottom of each field. But on the single-column list view it shows it as a popup button. When you change it, it changes the Calculation Type and Calculation Field on the form properties itself.

scneophyteParticipantDuh. I should have looked at the bottom of the properties of a field! I was confused by the Calculation section on the Form properties page but I get it now.

scneophyteParticipantOkay, here is what I came up with. 3 Forms: Sign Type, Offices and Placements.
Sign type has a one:many with placements
Offices has a one:many with placementsSign type has a custom layout named placements
Placements has a couple of saved searchesThe saved searches aren’t strictly necessary but can be faster than going through the Offices form to find the information you want.
If you have a return then record it on the placements form with a negative value.
I hope this helps!

Jan VisserParticipantTried to open the file into tap forms, nothing is imported.
Can you help?January 22, 2017 at 4:40 PM #20847
scneophyteParticipantI’m no expert in archives/templates/etc. Let’s try this: I will upload each of the forms as templates. No data will come through but it is fairly simple to suss out.

Jan VisserParticipantThank you, very much appreciated, can upload.
Will go through the details

BrendanKeymasterJan, The original attachment that scneophyte uploaded just needs to be unzipped before you open it in Tap Forms. You can just double-click on the .tapforms file to launch Tap Forms and have it open the file. Or you can add it to your list of Database Documents by dragging it into the main Database Documents window.
