Does a relationship have to be between 2 different forms, or can the child record be in the same form as the parent record?

Your not making any sense…. a child form and parent form in one form is just that, one form. There is no relationship… its just one record ??

Explain a little more what your trying to do.

What Jeff is asking is if you can link Form A to Form A or does it have to be Form A -> Form B. Yes you can link a form to itself. However, there may be an edge case somewhere that causes an infinite recursive loop to occur. One customer of mine told me they had this issue, but I couldn’t reproduce it. They said they eventually fixed it, but not sure how.

    Thanks!

Sorry that was confusing, but Brendan got the gist of it. I wanted to know if I had a record of say a rough rock of mineral and then later cut the rock into slabs and then some of the slabs into cabochons, could I setup a relationship where the slabs were children of the rough rock and the cabochons were children of the slab they were cut from. I don’t think this would cause and endless loop scenario because the rough could never be a child to the slab. I just wanted to make sure this was possible before investing in Tap Forms because that is a key functionality I’m looking for in a database.
