tonytParticipantHi
I tried dropbox sync and saw loads of photos that are no longer used by any of my forms. I am now back with iCloud for the moment by the way. What is the best way to get rid of them and so improve my backup times and file size?

BrendanKeymasterThat’s a good question. The new Couchbase system I’m working on implementing stores attachments differently than I do now. They get added to the database, but are stored outside in a separate attachments folder. But they are automatically uniqued. That is, two photos that are the same file will only be stored on disk once and simply referenced by your records. When the last record stops referencing them, the attachment will be deleted. During the migration to the new database format, Tap Forms will copy into the new database only those photos (and other file attachments) that are actually being referenced. Once the migration is done, you can manually delete the old data. But I’m still a long way off for this being reality.
In the mean time, you can always export your records as a CSV file with media enabled and then see which objects are being referenced and then delete the ones that aren’t that you don’t need anymore. But you’d have to do that for every form.
Thanks,
Brendan

tonytParticipantThanks for the replies. Re photos above, how do I export records for redundant photos if i have deleted the form? Would a time machine restore work? If so, how?
Cheers

tonytParticipantHi Brendan
Just found the way to view the iCloud drive folder: cd ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/FXLPHZS84D~com~clickspace~tapforms/Documents/; open .
If I identify the photos in there from the previews, can I safely delete them from there? Will they also be deleted from my database on my Macs / iPad?
Cheers

BrendanKeymasterIf you delete photos from the iCloud folder, then yes, they also get deleted from your other devices.
