Hi all, excuse me if there is an obvious answer I’ve missed. I am a video editor and I need to make a form for tracking multiple hard drives, each with multiple projects on them. The drives are named by letter and date (ie. AcquaT-15.05.11) and each project on that drive is named by yy.mm.dd-client name. I am sure this is obvious but I’m struggling to structure it. I need it all to be searchable down to the project level. Thanks for your help!
Hi Rhoderick,
You probably want to use a Link to Form field on your form to link one form to another form. Just create your two forms, then on the parent form, add your Link to Form field which points to the child form. The child form will display the list of records that are linked to it from a parent record.
Thanks!
Brendan
Thank you Brendan! What if I just made every project a record then made the drive it lives on into a field? Bottom up instead of top down? Any disadvantages to that? Sorry for the basic questions but this is all new to me.
Thanks!
Hi Rhoderick,
Sure, that would work too.
You could then create a bunch of Saved Searches to filter your records by drive name/number.
Thanks,
Brendan
