    When I use a date as the title for a record, it is duplicated in the record list on the left of the form.
    “September 2021” this shows up in the record list in addition to the date in the field when the date value is as shown below.
    “9-2021” this is the value in the field for the record name.
    If I use a text field this does not happen. This happens only on iPadOS. Not on my MacBook.

    Those look like section headings, I did a quick look on my phone and couldn’t see an option to manage them like exists on the Mac. The reason you don’t see them if it’s a text field is that Tap Forms doesn’t have a good way of grouping them where as for date fields it tries to grab the month and year so that individual day entries are grouped together but that’s clearly a little awkward for your use case here.

    When you have the First Sort Field specified as a Date field, Tap Forms will automatically group them for you into Year Month.

    But what you want to do is move your Payee and possibly Category field up in the list of fields so they’re at the top. Right now you have the Date field as the first field, so that’s what Tap Forms is picking to display as the first field in the list of records.
