Michael VanPuttenParticipantHello,
I think there may be an error in the section below:
Tap Forms Mac – Pro > Views > Multi-Column List View
The instructions for how to hide and rearrange fields under “Editing the Multi-Column View” says to “Click the icon resembling an “x” at the end of the header row“.
I was not seeing an “x” icon in the header rows as described in the documentation. It took me a while to figure out that the 2×3 table icon with a … in the lower right corner can be used to hide/reveal columns as well as to rearrange their order.
Thanks for making such great software.
Background on My Issue
I’m new to the app and running through a 14-day trial. I had been struggling to figure out how to have the Multi-Column View match the order of the fields in my Document > Form > Fields configuration. I suspect the default column order is set based on the order the fields in the document were created. However, I wish that when I rearranged the field order under the form inspector that there was a matching “default” or “match form inspector order” that was available in the Multi-Column View. When sketching out and developing a database, it’s nice to be able to customize the order of the view vs. the inspector separately but also kind of laborious to have to manually reorder and sync both each time.Tap Forms Pro Version I’m Using: Version 1.0.11 (Build 393)
MacOS: 15.6.1 (24G90)Attachments:

BrendanKeymasterHi Michael,
Whoops! Ya, that’s a mistake. I had changed the icon used from a wrench / screwdriver (that resembles an X), to the table with (•••) in the corner to represent modifying the columns in Tap Forms Pro. I’ll correct the manual.
Thanks for the feedback on the MCLV field ordering issue you’ve encountered. I agree, it would be good to have a “Default Field Order” button or something like that which copies the field order from the form itself so it matches the Default Layout. I added the ability to have different configurations because some people really wanted to have either a limited number of fields displayed (their most important) or in a different order than displayed on the Default Layout (which derives its ordering from the Fields tab on the Form inspector panel).
Thanks,
Brendan
