martin_antonParticipantHi,
After a few number of days I start to enjoy using Tap Forms. It does an incredible good job for the price you pay. Coming from FileMaker Pro I realy see the value ;-))
I use pick fields often. But in some cases it is required to fill in a different value at the row which is driven from a pick list.
Q; Is there a way to manualy overrule a value in a pick list field. I mean a field in the database. Thanks,

martin_antonParticipantApologize, I made a small error in stating the question about pick list field overrule. What I mean is overruling a calculated field. I use a pick field to enter the Tax % in the bank data. Sometimes I need to manually enter the value and neglect the calculation. Is that possible?

BrendanKeymasterHi Martin,
I’m sorry but you cannot edit the value of a Calculation field other than to update the formula or values the formula references.
Thanks,
Brendan

John FurlongParticipantHi Brendan
I’m having a similar problem with a Text Field. A record created on the OSX version which contains a Pick List is capable of having additional text added to the Pick List text. However, having sync’d the file to the iPad when I try to do the same thing to this record it isn’t possible to add anything to the text in the Pick List field.
I looked at some of the sample files supplied with the iOS version and found that it IS possible to add text to a Pick List field in those files. Something seems to happen as a result of sync’ing a file created in the OSX across to iOS. The whole reason for getting the iOS version of Tap Forms was to allow me to do data entry away from the desktop machine… :0(
I guess I could do a ‘work around’ by adding an extra Text Field, but that seems a bit unnecessary as it’s possible to do what I want in the OSX version.February 8, 2015 at 9:02 AM #12912
John FurlongParticipant…ah, found the answer in Roo’s VERY helpful Tap Forms Instructions…
