I am creating a new layout and wish to use a field of Note type.

I would like to change the size of the type but unlike other types of field (numbers, text, Linked to form, dates) changing the font size for a Note field has no effect.

Is changing the font size not possible with a Note field?

Note fields contain rich text content. So you can have different fonts, styles, colours, sizes, etc. for each character if you like. Because of that, setting the font on the Note field object itself has no effect, other than to set whatever the default will be when you enter new records.

If you’d like to change the font for every value in every record of your Note field, go to the Default Layout, edit your Note field value there, select the text, change the font details, then click the Apply Font Style to All Records button.

    Brendan,

    Thank you for clarifying.

A way around this issue is:

    1. Use ‘Add text to your layout’ option.
    2. Then insert a merge field ‘[ ]’.
    3. Then it is possible to set the type size / font etc for the field within ‘[ ]’, even it is of the Note type (and it can be different to any text before or after it, or any other field inserted with a ‘[ ]’.

The only downside is that any formatting within the Note field is lost.
