John HarrisParticipantGreetings – I have just purchased the database and I am having a little trouble editing the layout.
In the online guide there is an Edit Layout button. My version doesn’t have one.I’ve been trying to work with relationships but the user guide shows a form and properties box which I can’t find – is this just me?
Can I reset defaults?Really want to get my head around this little database – it looks sweet.

Cliff TarranceParticipantHello,
You should see a Layout button toward the right end of the toolbar, as in the attached screenshot. If you don’t see that, try View menu —> Customize Toolbar… to restore the default toolbar.
Note that the Layout editor is for adding custom layouts. Each form (what many db systems would call tables) has a default layout that you cannot modify (other than by changing the order of fields). You can add as many custom layouts as you’d like, but you will always have (i.e., can’t delete) the default layout.

Cliff TarranceParticipant… Adding that you can also create a new custom layout from the Layout menu —> New Layout

BrendanKeymasterHi John,
Perhaps you’re looking at the older 2.0 version manual. Here’s a link to the 3.0 manual:

Thanks!

John HarrisParticipantThank you for the help. Yes I was using the older user guide. But here’s the thing – and I know I’m the only one who doesn’t get this. When I create a new form I don’t get the same screen as I’m seeing in the user guide (the form set-up dialog)- see attachment
I’d be really grateful for your help – Cheers – John

BrendanKeymasterHi John,
That’s the older 2.0 version of the manual. The 3.0 version of the manual shows the proper screenshot for the 3.x version of Tap Forms Mac.

John HarrisParticipantBrendan, the good thing is – if a person of small brain like me can use TAPFORMS anyone can. I’m building a database for art and media teachers. I’ll let you know how I go.
