High Brendan,
I’ve always preferred to use keyboard shortcuts over clicking into fields on the screen.
What bothers me is that when I create a new record in my database I’ll first have to do CMD-E in order to edit the record – and then I need to click into one of the fields to actually start editing. What I’d like to see is that once I told the system that I want to edit a record*, the cursor is automatically put into the first field on my form and I can start typing away.
If it’s not possible to have that automatically (which I think it is), is there at least a way to insert the cursor into the first field with a single keyboard shortcut?
* As it is, when I create a new record the application should assume that I want to edit it straight away and I shouldn’t need to use any command at all.
Thanks
Michael
Hi Michael,
Tap Forms should automatically put the cursor into the first editable field in your form on the Default Layout. And if you’re on the multi-column list view, if you press the Return key, a new record will be added and the cursor will be in the first column ready to type into.
