Hello,
Have been using nearby sync with good success for my mac-ipad. Recently I purchased the iPhone app and tried to get all devices talking. I shared the forms to my iPhone from my mac. All looked normal, DB #’s matched, Bluetooth was on, same wifi, but I can’t see either device when I click the +.
I searched the forum and tried the troubleshooting I could find. I saw someone had to reset their entire iPhone, which I would really prefer not to do. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Hi Clayton,
Make sure you have the Local Network setting enabled for Tap Forms in the Privacy area of the Settings app.
That should solve that problem.
Thanks!
Brendan
Thanks Brendan. I saw this in one of the forum posts. I was unable to locate this setting in either my Mac or iPhone apps. I took a peek at the manuals and didn’t find a reference to it either. Can you point me to where to find it?
It’s not on the Mac version. But if you have your firewall enabled for Mac then you also need to allow Tap Forms to receive connections in the Advanced settings of the Firewall tab.
For iOS, go to Settings, then Privacy, then Local Network. There’s a switch next to each of the apps. Just make sure it’s ON for Tap Forms.
Aha! Easy, got it. Fixed the issue, thanks! I was looking at settings within the app, forgot about iOS settings. Thanks again!
